Senta a Pua! – Courage, Brotherhood, and the Legacy of Innovation
In the storm of the Second World War, courage found its wings in the hearts of the men of Brazil’s 1º Grupo de Aviação de Caça, proudly known as the “Senta a Pua!” Squadron. Flying the rugged and powerful P-47D ThunderboltP-47D Thunderbolt, these Brazilian pilots carried not only the colors of their homeland but also the spirit of freedom shared with their American allies.
Assigned to the U.S. 350th Fighter Group of the Twelfth Air Force, the Brazilian airmen joined the fight in the skies over Italy in 1944. They came from a distant land, united by purpose, determination, and faith in the cause of liberty. Facing enemy fire, harsh weather, and unforgiving missions, the “Senta a Pua!” pilots demonstrated unmatched bravery and professionalism.
