Senta a Pua! – Courage, Brotherhood, and the Legacy of Innovation

In the storm of the Second World War, courage found its wings in the hearts of the men of Brazil’s 1º Grupo de Aviação de Caça, proudly known as the “Senta a Pua!” Squadron. Flying the rugged and powerful P-47D Thunderbolt, these Brazilian pilots carried not only the colors of their homeland but also the spirit of freedom shared with their American allies.

Assigned to the U.S. 350th Fighter Group of the Twelfth Air Force, the Brazilian airmen joined the fight in the skies over Italy in 1944. They came from a distant land, united by purpose, determination, and faith in the cause of liberty. Facing enemy fire, harsh weather, and unforgiving missions, the “Senta a Pua!” pilots demonstrated unmatched bravery and professionalism.

Their Thunderbolts roared across the mountains and valleys of the Italian front, striking enemy convoys, bridges, and supply lines that sustained the Axis war effort. Each sortie was a testament not only to their skill but to their unbreakable spirit. Their courage earned the admiration of their American comrades, with whom they shared not just danger, but friendship, laughter, and respect.

In the airfields of Tarquinia and Pisa, Brazilians and Americans worked side by side — repairing aircraft, planning missions, and writing home under the same dim lights. Together, they forged a brotherhood in the sky that transcended language and distance. The “Senta a Pua!” motto — a Brazilian cry of courage meaning “Hit ’em hard!” — became a symbol of unity and determination.

WRX Aerospace and the Spirit of “Senta a Pua!”

Today, WRX Aerospace proudly carries forward that legacy. By adopting the Senta a Pua! Insignia as a token of honor, the company pays tribute to the Brazilian pilots, engineers, and visionaries who helped shape the history of aviation — and to the enduring partnership between our small team from Brazil and the new team here in the United States.

Just as the brave airmen of the 1º Grupo de Aviação de Caça stood shoulder to shoulder with the U.S. 350th Fighter Group, WRX Aerospace stands committed to advancing aerospace innovation through collaboration, courage, and shared purpose. The spirit that once united pilots in battle now unites engineers, scientists, and innovators striving toward the frontiers of flight and defense.

The Senta a Pua! The emblem represents more than wartime valor — it embodies resilience, unity, and the relentless pursuit of excellence. For WRX Aerospace, it is both a salute to history and a symbol of the future — a reminder that true progress is built through partnership, courage, and the will to soar beyond limits.
